ALPHA TOPS, Geneva while having only limited trading activities, have the role of group headquarters where they consolidate most of the group administration. We supervise the finances, endeavouring to assign them in the most efficient manner. More importantly, we continuously receive information from the various offices and in co-ordination with their managers form a general policy for the whole group.
The chairman, Francis O. Patthey, started the company in 1979 together with Pino Alvigini. Mr. Patthey has for most of his working life been involved in speciality fibres, particularly Alpaca and built up a successful business in Arequipa, Peru (Inca Tops).
The company is managed by Mathias Nobs who started working as a trader with Mr Patthey in 1978. After building alpaca business outside Italy he became involved in mohair trade. Today he concentrates on organization and finance.
