The smaller offering on todays’ sale, the first sale of the Summer season, attracted very keen
interest for Young Goats and Kids and to a lesser degree Adults. Compared to the closing sale
of 2011, the Rand traded stronger against both the US Dollar 5% and Euro by 6%. 
 
Most interest was shown for Young Goats where prices increased by 8%. 
 
Kids attracted keen interest with prices unchanged to dearer for selected lots.  
 
With Adults only loosing 2-3% in Rand terms, compared to the previous auction levels, it
confirms that mohair is generally still in demand.  
 
The next sale will be held on 6th March 2012 where approximately 140,000 kg will be on offer.
