On today’s auction prices for fine summer kids increased up to 5%. Young goats also increase by 3-5%, while the price of adult remains unchanged in rand terms. Short woollen qualities were once again in keen demand and prices for these increased by up to 10% in some cases.

As expected, some excellent quality clips fetched extreme prices. Competition was good, especially on the finer end with all buyers participating and with only two smaller sales remaining we expect this tendency to continue. It is estimated that 85% of the season’s offering has now been sold.

The next sale will take place on 28th May 2013 with approximately 70,000kgs of Cape Mohair on offer.
